Sure sounds like it. Sounds like the 3.2 Powerstroke from the transit family.
Hmmm, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! suggests its this Land Rover engine instead (which would make sense since its federalized for light duty trucks) but it sure sounds like the 3.2. I wonder if they are vetting both engines as possible choices? Either way with RAM and Ford in the light duty diesel game GM better get its act together sooner rather than later if it wants to compete in this space, which their recent commitment to diesel engines suggest.

3.2 is an I-5, no?
Something about a full-size pickup with an I-5 interests me.

Unless there is something majorly different about the bed of the diesel F150, I don’t see why it would need to be camouflaged. By doing that, it only draws attention to it, and I highly doubt Ford wants attention with this upcoming model.

I’m so hoping for the 3.2L. For some reason I’ve never really came to accept diesels in a Vee configuration.
If it was up to me ALL diesels would be inline. It just seems like the right way to do it.

I always thought that the 3.2L I5 would make sense in the F150... partly because they’ve already federalized it for the Transit.

Trouble is the 3.2 is only legal in the hd class. Turns out heavy vans have a loophole that allow them to use the hd emissions standards. As it sits now the 3.2 would work in the light duty class.

I didn’t know that. Maybe they’re working on fixing that...

My guess is they are evaluating both the lion engine and the 3.2 to see which one would work better and be more cost effective once brought into compliance
